Kelsey Crawford
Professional Music Educator and Performer

Kelsey Crawford is a music educator and performer with a passion for vocal and concert band instruction. Kelsey graduated from the renowned Berklee College of Music (Boston) in 2015 as a vocal principle, with her Bachelors in Music Education and a minor in Psychology; she participated in many ensembles including the Berklee Symphonic Band in which she performed on flute, her primary band instrument. Kelsey also ran the non-profit organization, The Movement @ Berklee, within the Office of Community and Government Affairs. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, she was offered a position to continue the program and oversee a team of work-study students.
Along with her position at Berklee College of Music, Ms. Crawford taught private lessons and ensemble classes at the Bach to Rock School in Boston, while supporting the Scituate Massachusetts Public School’s music and band programs.
During her time in Boston, Kelsey co-wrote, professionally recorded, and released two E.P.s with the band, Low Key. She traveled and toured with Low Key throughout the Northeast with notable performances at the Vermont Music Festival, Rock the Block Music Festival (Providence), Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), The Red Room (Boston), and countless others.
In 2016, Ms. Crawford relocated to Citrus County, Florida and became the Director of Bands at Lecanto Middle School, a title 1 school. While rebuilding the band program, she has coordinated All County Band events, established musical roots in the community through parade participation, and reinvigorated the band program through participation in the Florida Band Master's annual Music Performance Assessments for the first time in over twenty years.
Kelsey was honored to be the guest conductor for the Citrus All County Elementary Chorus in 2019, and in 2020 was asked to take over the Lecanto High School Chorus Director and IB Music position, while continuing her work with the Middle School band. She has since lifted the program with a strong focus in musical literacy, vocal technique for both traditional choral art music and contemporary musical theatre, and an incorporation of multi-lingual singing. Kelsey successfully navigated through virtual instruction and performances during Covid, maintaining a vibrant choral program and IB music program at the high school.
In 2022, Kelsey accepted the Choral Director position at Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, and relocated to Volusia County Florida where she currently lives and teaches full time. Kelsey is an active director and teacher within the Advanced Performing Arts program at SCHS and the music director for the Musical Theatre program. She also oversees the local Tri-M Music Honrs Society chapter and supports the IB Music program.
Kelsey also teaches private lessons throughout the county, and continues to perform as an acoustic artist and with multiple ensembles. Ms. Crawford is a professional member of the Florida Vocal Association, FMEA, NAfME, VUE, and FEA.
When not playing or teaching music, Kelsey loves spending time with friends and family, taking care of her animals, gardening, practicing yoga, and traveling.
